Heading to a Festival? Here’s Everything You’ll Need

Heading to a Festival? Here’s Everything You’ll Need

Words by Chanelle Goddard

Summer’s back, which means festivals are too. To help you make the most of it, we detail everything you’ll need.

When restrictions ended, most young people (or is it Gen Z?) were busy dreaming about one thing: the return of festivals. Say what you want, but few things scream summer like the screaming crowds at festivals, with little care for anything else but alcohol, music, and you know what.

To keep you from missing out on the action – or worse – having a bad experience, we’ve put together a list of everything you need. You’re welcome.

Disposable Camera

Before you pretend to be too cool for school, hear us out: nothing screams the perfect summer like a collection of photos taken from a disposable camera. Yes, we know, your iPhone camera is more than capable of doing the job. True, you’re not wrong – but where’s the romance in that?

For the days of talking to the grandkids opt for a disposable camera, giving you the chance to capture the best of summer.

Poncho

Picture this: you’ve spent hours getting ready, with every thread of your outfit selected to impress. Then, comes the rain – it is the UK, after all. So help you stay dry, the poncho was created – so just use it, okay?  Trust us, in the long run, that favourite tee will thank you.

Portable Charger

Yes, it’s bulky in your pocket (there are these called bags, by the way). And yes, you think your ‘how long my phone last’ game is strong – but nothing screams unorganised like a desperate search for a charger. Plus, without a portable charger, how else are you going to tell your friends you’re by that burger stand?

To save you from getting lost – or worse, missing out on your newfound soulmate’s number, just grab a portable charger.

Festival Signs

Save your tutting. Festival signs are essential: how else do you think Alex from Glasto got noticed by Dave? In short, nothing gets you noticed in a crowd of people like a cool sign. Yes, carrying it around can be a chore – but when you end of the stage, you’ll thank us, right? Our street name is TUJ, in case you’re wondering.

 Essentials, Essentials, Essentials

Ever seen a line of people walking back from the action, with sulky faces and angry mutterings? Yeah, they forgot their essentials. To keep you from the same fate, we’re putting a list of things to check before you leave the house… in writing, so you don’t forget. First, it’s the ID. Just check and take it. You may be able to fool your local pub, but the chances of you getting away with it at a big festival are slim. Second, it’s a pack of first aid. It’s essential, just take it. Then, it’s your phone. Trust us, we’ve seen it before.

For your return to festivals, you’ll need some trainers. Here are the trainers to wear this summer.
