Jacob Elordi Is the Man of the Moment

Jacob Elordi Is the Man of the Moment

Words by Shayni Solanki

Jacob Elordi is clearly the man of the moment, and for good reason.

He may not have been around for that long, but Jacob Elordi has done pretty well during his short time in the limelight. Most probably don’t  know that he started off as an extra in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales before landing his first credited role as ‘Rooster’ in Australian film Swinging Safari.

Elordi’s name was firmly established on the map when he appeared in The Kissing Booth trilogy, starring in the Netflix trilogy from 2018 through to 2021. He struck it lucky at a time that was a bit of a golden age for romcoms and their male stars, with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’s Noah Centineo similarly blowing up.

The Kissing Booth wasn’t exactly the best movie, hardly showing Elordi was capable of. The one thing it did do, however, was bring him a load of opportunities, including what he’s probably best known for: Euphoria.

Prior to starring in The Kissing Booth, Elordi was sleeping in his car with less than $1000 to his name. Since starring in Euphoria, Elordi’s celebrity has truly blown up. The show allowed him to shed the Netflix romcom star image and become a true actor, and a great one at that.

He isn’t just a star on our screens either – he’s a star in the fashion industry, snagging a feature in the 2021 Calvin Klein Spring collection.

Now, he’s truly the man of the moment and, with the release of Saltburn, Elordi has risen to a whole new level. The film isn’t for the lighthearted. It’s weird, it’s thrilling, but it’s also beautiful. Taking on a leading role, he’s shown just how adaptable his talent actually is. Now starring as Elvis in Priscilla, it seems like Hollywood can’t get enough of his star power.

Jacob Elordi is definitely here to stay. He’s got it all and he’s proved that he deserves everything he’s earned. We can’t wait to see what else he can do in the future.
