Universities are back, and so are student discounts. Whether you’re returning or starting afresh, here are the companies offering the best bargains.
It’s September, and we’re slowly returning to some form of normal life: schools are returning, businesses are open, and Brexit is back on the agenda. But some for some, September means the return of University. Over-packed suitcases are being filled, arguments are being had over which pans and spoons to take and confusion over what a socially-distanced freshers’ week might look like is rife – but for university students, be it freshers or final years, student discounts remain constant. Discounts are important because as most students know, nothing runs out quicker than cash during a fun-filled university year.
We know you’ve got a lot of packing to do, so to save you time, here are the best discounts to take advantage of:
Apple Music
At university—and in life, music plays an important part. From walking to and from lectures, winding down after an intense session of doing something or nothing at the library, you’ll need a favourite playlist or two to keep you going. Lucky for you, there are several companies fighting to sell you their music platform.
In one corner, we have the infamous Apple Music, by (you guessed it) Apple. The usual subscription costs £9.99 a month, but just for you (and any other student), you can get 6 months completely free (providing you have a UNIDAYS account).
The discount is great, but have Apple Music won the music fight? Before you rush off to get your subscription, you’ll want to hear about the people in the other corner: Spotify.
Spotify Student Premium
Like Apple Music, Spotify is also popular—even more popular than its rival. It has become a staple for millions of music lovers worldwide. With 170 million users and 50 million songs available, it’s the world’s largest music streaming platform.
Like Apple Music, the usual subscription will cost you £9.99 per month – but there’s no 6-month free discount. Instead, Spotify will give you a half-price subscription for the duration of your time as a student. To benefit from the half-price discount, head to the Spotify website, click the premium section and claim your discount.
Whichever one you choose, you’ll be saving on ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ – you’re welcome Destiny Child fans.
Dominos
This one’s for all the pizza lovers which at university, seems like everyone.
For those late-night games nights with your new best friends, those Netflix marathons after lectures, or any other time, you’ll need some pizza. Lucky for you, Dominos is offering 35% student discounts on the UNIDAYS.
ASOS
Sometimes, it’s hard to think of a more fashion-friendly environment than university. The stairs to lectures become photoshoot backdrops, the hallways of the library became catwalks for the stylish, and fancy dress events offer a chance to show off your favourite fictional character.
Although university isn’t about fashion, you’ll want to look good in between studying and relaxing, right? If so, ASOS is offering a 15% discount for students to enjoy on the UNIDAYS app – but for a limited time only. You have until 14th of September to take advantage of the discount.
Pure Gym Membership Discount
After all the in-between lecture snacking, pizza nights, and after club burger van runs, you might feel like taking a trip to the gym. Keeping fit and healthy at university (doesn’t necessarily mean going to the gym) is important for your mental health and your studies.
Pure Gym is offering a discount of up to 30% on their fixed term memberships of either 6, 9 or 12 months for all students registered on the UNIDAYS website. Pure Gym’s all over the UK have become a staple place for gymgoers eager to improve their physical health. Head over to UNIDAYS, activate your Pure Gym student discount, and get ready to break a sweat!
Apple Education Pricing
Apple likes to give discounts, especially when university time comes about. If you’re looking to save on their quality, but pricey laptops and tablets, you’re in the right place. With it’s Education Pricing scheme, Apple is offering four great offers: ‘Free Airpods when you buy an iPad’, ‘Free Airpods when you buy a Macbook’, ‘20% off Apple Care+’ (to protect all your Apple products in case they get damaged or lost) and ‘1 year off Apple TV’. AirPods have become a go-to accessory for on the go music listeners, so why not get them for free?
For those after-lecture evenings, you’ll need something to watch – here are things to watch on Netflix this September
