Wearing a suit isn’t rocket science. From attending a wedding to your office attire, here are the suit rules every man should know.
Keep the last button open
Closing the last button of your suit makes it look slightly restrictive and less stylish. You should also keep the last button on your vest open. This is one of the most important suit rules you need to follow.
When wearing a tie, button up your shirt.
Leaving your top button open just isn’t a good idea.
Try and show half an inch of your shirt cuffs
We’re not asking you go out and buy Bespoke suits. Your local tailor is perfectly capable of shortening or lengthening your sleeves to the perfect length.
Always remove the label stitching before wearing your suit.
Trust us, no one cares if you suit was stitched by Ralph Lauren himself.
Opt for a navy or charcoal suit when choosing your office wear
A navy or charcoal suit is much more versatile and less harsher than a black suit. Reserve your black suit for funerals or parties.
If your trouser fits, you don’t need a belt.
For a much cleaner and sophisticated look, avoid wearing a belt if you don’t need to. Your local tailor should be able to remove the belt holes.
Keep it simple
Too many colours and combinations is never a good idea. Always try and pair a lighter shirt with a darker tie.
