Skiing has never looked this cool, and Soft Life Ski are offering you the chance to try it out.
When a few friends seeking adventure decided to try out skiing, they didn’t expect it would lead to a movement. Posting photos of their trip on their socials, they found their friends at home taking an interest.
The friends decided to put together a taster trip, taking around 30 of those who wanted to try their luck out on the alpine slopes of Chamonix on the French border; and so Soft Life Ski was born.
Every effort was made to make it as accessible as possible. The trip was self-funded, buoyed by a fair payment plan, and SLS partnered with Europe’s largest ski school, ESF, to give everybody on the trip a fair chance at gaining some confidence on the slopes.
Soon, these friends had built a ski community of people from ethnic minorities that had an interesting in skiing and trying out something they weren’t all too familiar with. Now they’re gearing up for their 2024 trip to Hemsedal, Norway. The plan is to take all Soft Like Skiers for a memorable 4 night stay in early March.
It’s not just skiing on offer though, with snowboarding and excursions also on the table. On their last trip, the group visited the Chamonix ice caves, offering everyone the chance to put down their ski poles for a sec, and try out something else. Then in the evening, everyone can take part in something familiar to most: partying. Ski bars offer nights to remember, with music covering Afrobeats, Rap, and Hip-Hop, ensuring that the fun never stops.
Above all else though, Soft Life Ski has grown to be a real community, with the friendships made and times shared not limited to the trips. They hosted a barbecue in early September as a way of giving back to those who had supported them on their journey, and to welcome those ready to join them as they continue. Food, good vibes, DJs, and a place to meet each other, it was the perfect springboard for the upcoming trip.
