As the medium continues to gain mainstream popularity, we pick the must-listen podcasts of the year.

Podcasts are becoming more and more popular. Perfect for if you’re on the go, they provide a great sense of escapism from reality and explore a variety of topics, opening up discussions on subjects that are typically seen as taboo. In light of their recent rise to prominence, we’ve compiled a list of the best podcasts of the year:

90’s Baby Show

This a podcast that will definitely get you laughing. The 90’s Baby Show podcast explores the mind of the typical 90’s baby in our modern society. Hosts Fred Santana, VP and Temi Alchemy delve into all things culture, world issues and entertainment. It’s the perfect combination of comedy and news coverage, and you can expect weekly guest appearances from fellow entertainers like Nella Rose, Afro B, The Chicken Connoisseur and many others you know and love. Seasoned Sessions

The Seasoned Sessions podcast features a weekly discussion between producers Hanifah and Ada, who explore the black news of the week. Brought to you by BuzzFeed UK, this podcast is committed to sharing content that resonates with the typical black British experience. The Seasoned Sessions podcast started releasing episodes in July this year, and since then it’s already gained a lot of love and attention from ethnic communities and Buzzfeed UK fans. Here, no topics are off-limits – all things from politics to music are discussed in a light-hearted and funny yet educated way. So, make sure you check out Seasoned Sessions, which is available for you to listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Finding Your Feet

This is a podcast for millennials, hosted by millennials. Finding Your Feet is hosted by Grace and Abby, two millennials both finding their feet in life. Episodes are released weekly, exploring all things from personal growth, wellness and overall mindfulness. Hosted by Marvin Abbey, Mr Exposed and Tazer Black, 3ShotsOfTequila has become a staple of UK podcast success. Professional gaming, the modern dating world and even finance for students are all topics covered, along with much more for you to enjoy. This is a podcast also available in video form on YouTube if you prefer to watch rather than just listen.
