What to Watch on Netflix This Month

Words by Chanelle Goddard

We detail the best the streaming service has to offer in November, just in time for a second national lockdown.

With a second lockdown in full swing from Thursday, we’ll all be spending more time indoors. Luckily, with the arrival of several exciting new movies and shows, Netflix has got you covered.

To stop you from twiddling your thumbs with boredom, here are things to watch on Netflix this November:

The End Of The F***ing World

The season 2 debut of Channel 4’s BAFTA-winning dark comedy, The End Of The F***ing World, is coming to Netflix on November 4th. The first series brought viewers into the dark and confusing lives of teenagers James – a self-diagnosed psychopath – and Alyssa – his unsuspecting murder victim – as they embark on a wild journey to find Alyssa’s missing father. Season 2 will pick up directly after season 1’s dramatic cliff-hanger, continuing Alyssa’s and James’ compelling story. The teens end up moving away for a fresh start – but both are met with a lot of craziness along the way. This release has been long-awaited by Netflix viewers since season 1’s 2018 debut, so make sure you tune in this Wednesday.

Trial 4

This true-crime docu-series follows the journey of Sean Ellis, a man who claims he was wrongfully convicted of murdering a Boston Police Officer at just 19 years old in 1993. Ellis spent 22 years in prison, but was then released when new evidence came to light – within a span of a year, he was tirelessly put on trial at a total of three times. The series speaks to Ellis’ experience on a deeper, more personal level, as he faces his fourth trial – which may result in him returning to prison for life. The eight-part series will follow Ellis’ fight for his innocence and expose systematic racism and police corruption. Trial 4 drops on Netflix November 11th.

The Minions Of Midas

Coming to Netflix on November 13th, this new Spanish thriller is bound to have you hooked. Based on a Spanish short story, the series follows a powerful businessman (Luis Tosar) who receives a disturbing letter of blackmail. The letter states that if he fails to transfer a large sum of money to a particular bank account, then a random person (who the businessman may or may not be close to) will be killed. The letter is eerily signed off at the end as ‘The Minions Of Midas’. The series follows the journey of the businessman as he tries to uncover the identity of the anonymous organisation – with a lot of danger and unexpected turns along the way.

Grand Army

The new drama series Grand Army is a must-watch. Incorporating everything from toxic relationships to terrorism, this is one that will keep you on your toes. Directed by Katie Cappiello, the series follows the story of five high school students in Brooklyn, New York, and their attempts to make a name for themselves despite their chaotic and drama-filled everyday lives. Satisfied viewers are praising the show in their droves, labelling it “emotional”, “raw” and a “compelling watch” – so make sure you head over to Netflix and decide for yourself. It’s definitely a must-see.

My Next Guest David Letterman

Known for being a famous TV show host for 33 years, David Letterman’s latest project, My Next Guest season 3, is taking Netflix by storm. In a witty and intimate interview style, Letterman takes the stage and chats to some of the world’s most famous celebrities and public figures. Dave Chapelle, Lizzo, Kim Kardashian West, Robert Downey Jr. (and many more you know and love) are all faces you can expect to see talking one-on-one in an engaging personal interview with the talk show host. Head over to Netflix to see a side of your favourite celebrities you’ve never seen before.

Whilst you’re here, we thought you’d want to know why Damson Idris is so damn cool.
