These Are the Best Sliders to Wear This Summer

These Are the Best Sliders to Wear This Summer

Words by Debbie Maburutse

For the days when stepping out in shoes is a bit too much effort, your best option is to slide around in one of these stylish options.

Not too long ago, stepping out in slides or slippers was the worst kind of fashion sin. They were cool and all, as long as you wore them around the house. But fashion’s a vacillating business, an industry where anything goes – depending on the time. In recent years, their reputation as the go-to footwear for anyone who can’t be arsed is long gone. And with a few design updates, slides are now as much a fashion statement as anything else.

The right pair – one which has all the stylish bells and whistles – will add (not detract) from your outfit. Plus, with the likes of Birkenstocks and Crocs stepping up their game, there’s a whole lotta fashionable options to choose from.

To help you stylishly slide around this summer, we narrowed down the best sliders to wear this summer:

Adidas Adilette

You’d be forgiven for thinking these looked a little – or just like – Yezzy’s. They’re not. Instead, the Adidas Adilette 22 have become the newest sensation, thanks to the ever-growing influence of Tiktok. Some say it looks 3D printed, others are calling it the future. Whatever your interpretation, you’ll have to hurry up to get a pair – thanks to resellers.

Birkenstock Boston

The Birkenstock Boston are as cool as they are comfortable. Virtually every pair of Birkenstocks come rubber-stamped with a quality seal of approval. And given their reputation for making things that last, you won’t be rushing to replace these anytime soon. If you ask us, they’re the trendiest of slippers (clogs, for keen birk fans), the ultimate statement for those looking to leisurely pace around in style, making them one of the best sliders to wear this summer.

Nike Offline 2.0

For street style enthusiasts, nothing short of edgy coolness will do. If that’s you, then few options are better than Nike’s Offline 2.0. They’re chunky, yes – but isn’t everything these days? Plus, for practicality, you can add and take away the soles – making those hot summer strolls a little more bearable.

Yeezy Slides

No list of the best slippers to wear would be complete without Ye’s popular creation. Much more than a means to walk around, Yeezy slides have become a cultural movement, a way for style enthusiasts to signal their participation in the global Yeezy movement. For what it’s worth, they look pretty good – oh,  and did we mention there’s absolutely nothing more comfortable?

Crocs

Crocs are cool, very cool. And whilst we never thought we’d utter those words, the brand’s resurgence has been nice to watch. Far from being a dad’s ultimate go-to shoe, crocs have become the biggest style staple. And not just for us – but for the biggest, most stylish names in sport and entertainment. It’s Lebron James’ favourite slipper, and Justin Beiber just became the brand’s leading ambassador. Surely, that counts for something?
